Milla's Hello Kitty birthday party

Milla got to choose what type of birthday party she wanted to host, and she decided not to have a party at home this year. Instead she wanted to have her party at the gymnastics club. Good choice! We all had loads and loads of fun!

The morning started out with manicures at the nail salon! Hello Kitty nail decorations, of course.

Then we headed over to the Gymnastics Club to set up our birthday table, and we only had 15 minutes to set up! I guess that is the drawback of not having the party at home - minimum time to 'get in' and 'get out' in between parties at the venue. But we came super prepared and worked with the speed of lightning :-)

Milla had wished for an ice cream bar and we set up a 'make your own ice cream bar' for the kids, where they could decorate their own ice cream cups. We had sprinkles, oreos, m&m's, skittles, snakes and jelly jubes. Oh, and of course whipped cream (in a can) and chocolate and strawberry sauce! The ice cream bar started with this sign:

Here is the birthday table!
The ice cream station. We had glued cut out paper Hello Kitty's onto the ice cream cups - and everything really - just
to stick to the theme
Everything had Hello Kitty on it, and it was labelled with what it was: Hello Lemonade, Hello straws etc. Yes,
there was hours of cutting out... MrC did a great job with that!
The birthday cake and cupcakes looked great!
And we made Pink Lemonade, which was super sweet (thanks to miss Milla going...more sugar, please!), and even the straws had Hello Kitty bows on them!
I can't believe my little miss M is 6!!!
Hello Kitty cupcakes, of course!
Our party favours was super cute! In line with the ice cream bar idea, we made ice cream 'cones' party bags, filled
with lollipops, chocolates, candy and lip glosses!
Then the kids arrived! Yoooohooooo! They had two coaches who led all the activities in the gymnastics hall. There was a foam pit, trampolines, ropes, balance bars and a big tower to jump from into the pit! Halfway through all the play, it was time for ice cream! Then some more activities and hide&seek before it was birthday cake time!

All the party goers in the foam pit!
1-2-3...foam fight!!!
A happy birthday girl!

A happy lil' Agnes!
Agnes in the background: ...nah, skip the foam fight - I'd rather bust some dance moves!

Now, time to jump into the pit!!! From the high tower...!!! Who's up for it???

Claudia

Elliot hopping in!

Milla-vanilla in the air!
All  the mums up next?

Mmmmm...decorating ice cream!
Rainbow, please!
...time for sweet pink lemonade...
Matthew choosing some decor
...hmmmm, so difficult to choose....
...I love sprinkles!
Say: ice creeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaam!!!
The ice cream man :-)
Ready for hide'n'seek
...and some parachute games before cake...

6 candles for miss Milla!
...I wish for.....
Happy 6, Milla!
There was no time for opening presents at the party, so we brought them all home for opening. Wow, there was so many presents from all her little party friends! Here are some of them:

Lego Ninjago film!
Turning 6!!!
Pink hair extension-hairclips!
Even money!!!
Tennis for the garden!
Hello Kitty pencil case and a diary!
Crayons!
Milla said afterwards: 'I am a very lucky girl! Not all kids get birthday presents!' - and she is so right - she is a very lucky girl!

Thank you so much for all of the amazing birthday cards and presents! And thank you so much to everyone for coming and making Milla's birthday so special!  We are blessed to have friends like you!!!

  1. What a fantastic party! You did a great job, as always :) Ava still talks about the time we went to the gymnastics club for Reeve's birthday. It's such a fun place. Wish we could have been there to celebrate with Miss Milla xx

    1. Well, you could always fly over for the twins' party in April :-) Because, no matter how much I persuade them to have ice skating party, bowling party, little picasso party....no way Jose - they want a gymnastic party like Milla! They loved the hide'n'seek, and that's what they want to do! So we will have a repeat in a couple of months....

    2. If only we could just fly backwards and forwards every few months!
One of Ava's classmates is having a birthday party at a gymnastics club this weekend. Ava was so excited when she found out there will be a foam pit just like the one in Adelaide. I think I know where we might be having the next birthday party ;)

  2. Ava just opened a present from my parents and there was the same Hello Kitty dress that the twins are wearing in these photos. She was pretty excited when I showed here these photos and she saw that she matches with them :) Now she just needs a Hello Kitty manicure!

    2. Ava is going to love her Hello Kitty dress even more now when I tell her Milla has one too! It's a little cold to wear it here at the moment but will be perfect for when you guys visit in the Summer. Let's just hope it still fits then. It's a size 7 but is a really snug fit.

    3. I know!! They are tiny. Milla's got size 10 (!) and Agnes and Elliot size 9 (!)... I have to pack and bring them with us. The girls are really excited, we have started planning slowly and we were discussing how many days in Disneyland - what do you think? Two enough? I'm reckoning it might be time for Panadol after two...
