Milla's education: International Baccalaureate

In Milla's school they teach a special curriculum called the International Baccalaureate. The programme is for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. Founded in 1968, the IB currently is implemented with 3,557 schools in 144 countries to over 1,089,000 students.
Marie-Thérèse Maurette created the framework for what would eventually become the IB Diploma Programme in 1948 when she wrote Is There a Way of Teaching for Peace?, a handbook for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
The curriculum and pedagogy of IB programmes focus on international perspectives of learning and teaching, while insisting that students fully explore their home culture and language. So far we love it. And Milla seems to enjoy the thinking around the terms of curriculum:

She is explaining to me about sharing, being open minded, being smart and also friends play, and having bigger buddies that teach them to be smart (their buddy class, students in year 6, spend time with them on a regular basis and teaches them lots of stuff).

Here Milla's class is showing some of their work in regards to being open minded and what that means. Can you see her in her red shoes?
