The Royal Adelaide Show is a big happening every year, especially for the little ones. There is rides, animals, fares, so much fun - and also foods, wine, culture, lumberjacking, sheepsheering, fireworks, and handcrafts...you name it, and it's there!
But for the kids the most exciting things are the SHOWBAGS! That's right, a multitude of bags for sale with surprises, lollies and toys...
Needless to say disappointment was grave in our household, as there was just no time for us to elope from work this year and go to the show :-( All the girls were SO disappointed, and I think they were the only one in class who didn't get to go this year. It is in fact such an event for the kids, that the school closed down a Monday so that families could have fun at the show!
Anyway, the girls came with me to work that Monday. They were so good, being quiet, working hard all day with drawing and colouring in - I was so proud of my busy bees (and grateful that I got so much work done with the three of them around the table in the office). The next morning I realised just what they had been working on...they had created their own showbags!!! Created beautiful fronts and glued them to paperbags. And then filled the bags with toys and snacks and lollipops from home. Ta da!!! Here is Milla with her 'The Cat Bag', containing soft toy cats and lollies! Aaaaawwww, bless her!

From past experiences with show bags I'm sure that the ones your girls created were much better ;)
ReplyDeleteMilla's cat show bag is adorable. I love it!
