Tragic Tuesday!

Hang on! It is not as sad as it sounds…

The school decided to raise money for the cancer council and they decided to do a 'tragic tuesday'! Meaning, all the kids skipped the school uniform for a day and instead showed up to school in a 'tragic' outfit…mismatched socks, clothes and colours that don't match, bad layering, not fixing their hair in the morning….you name it, just anything that looked 'tragic'.

Everyone brought a gold coin donation for  being a part of the fun - and the kids raised almost 5,000 NoK! Very good!

Here is our 'tragic tuesday' participants….

Good girls, doing something good!

What did Emil do?

Milla's front teeth are booth loose and wriggly, and the right one is going to fall out any minute. We just read a book about Emil i Lønneberget and she is wondering if she should try to pull it out 'Emil-style'....

...what she really wants to do is to 'save' it till Besta and Besten arrives in a few weeks - she has heard a rumour that the Norwegian toothfairy pays better than the Australian (thanks to my cousin for revealing that! Yes, Vronski I am looking at you!), but I am not sure that is going to work. To be continued....

Flowers for Helen

Lucky we have such a blossoming garden! Going over for a BBQ to the McKnock's, the girls decided to bring some flowers for the lady of the house.

We will have to bring her more flowers next weekend, as we are going to her vernissage - her opening night for her first solo art exhibition!

Sorry letter...

With three sisters in the house, sometimes arguments get out of hand.... I found Milla making this sorry-note to Agnes to cheer her up:

...aaaaaawwwww! Luckily a kiss and a cuddle is all it takes to become the bestest of friends again.

Superstar of the day!

At school they have a superstar-of-the-day. That's right, everyday there is a new superstar that gets to do all the super-duper-special jobs such as running errands for the teacher, prepping the smartboard and flick the pages! How awesome is that! The kids love it and it really is a special day for them, they are looking so much forward to it. This time it is Elliot who is the superstar of the day! Yay!

I wonder if it works at home...? Perhaps I should have a superstar of the day for setting the table, dishes, trash.....??? Hmmmmm.....

Indonesian flavours!

Agnes and Elliot's class had an excursion to the Indonesian pavillion at Flinders, and I got to come along as one of the helper-mums. Yay, I had a lovely day - completely knackered by the end of the day - but so much fun! Music, dress ups, writing letters to their 'partner class' in Indonesia and good food:-)

Pictures (mostly) by Agnes and Elliot).

Elliot's Quokka

Elliot's favourite animal these days is the quokka! She even made a puppet show with her own quokka:

Stormy weather!

Another night, another storm. At least our house is still intact and not damaged this time... Branches fell off across the road and in the neighbour's yard. Damaged their car, fence and gate.

...but gee-whiz! The rain, thunder and lightning was just insane. And the winds...poor koala - he must have been clinging on for his dear life up in the tree tops!

The new and the old...

Milla has found a new favourite book...the Bible!

I think at first she just liked the cute, little book with the pretty gold letters on the outside, but she  has now read in it every day for over a week and she is still going :-) Oh well, why not. She is determined to bring it to show and tell at school tomorrow and I overheard her say (when someone asked what she has been up to in the holidays) 'I have read the Bible!'.
...awwww, my little Milla....

3 sisters & 3 white ponies!

A riding lesson outside the paddock for a change - the girls had a pause from practicing technique and instead went on a ride in the terrain! They liked it a lot and had so much fun all together at the same time on the horses!!

On the way to the car after the lesson, we ran into this fella'....not so pretty showing us his behind......

...but look at his colours! Very pretty in all his glory!

We love Four Oaks Farm!

The Botanical Garden

We have had so many warm spring days lately - looks like summer is just around the corner. We went for a picnic in the park with Dominique, Alexie and mr Max - what a wonderful day!

Bamboo messages...

A duck family going for a swim...

Waterfeatures everywhere...

Good we wore shoes that double as boats...

Sailing our shoes down the stream...

Adelaide Botanical Garden is beautiful! And even better with sunshine and chocolate cake...!
