Not sure what they grow into but be careful as they can be itchy. We used to have similar looking caterpillars in a tree outside one classroom in Meningie and we called them spitfires as they spat/sprayed itchy stuff when you walked past the tree. For the whole of 6th grade we had to line up under said tree and I remember the whole class being in fear of the fuzzy little guys!

Oh no, and they are so cute. The girls have been 'manhandling' them, no itchiness so far, but we'll be careful!
