The Disney Ice show!

Finally! The girls have been waiting for SO long for the ice-skating show! And it was ah-mazing!! We even got to sit on the front row!!

After dodging the overpriced Mickey Mouse popcorn and Goofy ice cream, we made it to our seats to take in some magic...

...first some local warm-up acts (yes, there is an ice-arena with figure skating in Adelaide!), and then Aladdin & princess Jasmine started the show!

We were very impressed! But my mum-job since the ice-skating show have been to provide the girls with some some balance... I have tried to give some nuance to the Disney princess ideal and provided the girls with stories of 5 real heroines from history. To be continued...

Chocolate Roulade

....aaaahhhh, the joys of having a hubby who loves to cook!! And he's got three little sous-chefs!

Mmmmmmm, chocolate roulade was VERY good!

Those pesky guests!!!

Did you guess...? And no, it wasn't ants or spiders....or possums, kangaroos or crocodiles....

...look at that flowing, luscious hair...

IIIIIIIIIIIIK!!! EEEEEWWWWWW!!! Darned! Headlice!!!

Dear Lord, all the combing, treatments and conditioner....4 heads of looooong hair. By the second week Gregg said: That's it! Let's just shave it all off!!!

But we did it! Finally they're all gone! Halleluja!

Have a nice day everyone!

Agnes and Leo

Leo the Literacy Lion came home with Agnes over the weekend, and she did an activity in 'his' book.

Elliot felt the need to add a love heart to Leo!

Ridge Point Walk!

Day by day we are exploring the new area we have moved into. The Hills are so beautiful - especially so now that it is winter! Just behind our house there is a huge National Park (I know - makes us nervous in summer time for the bush fire risk!) that at the moment, after lots of rain is green and lush! Here is some pictures from our walk to Ridge Point with Helen and Matty! We packed our bags with coffee and lucy and set out for a 4 hour adventure where we found lots of treasures!

You can see all the way to the City CBD - can you spot the skyscrapers?
Treasures from our nature scavenger hunt
Hot coffee to warm us up!
Helen's painted rocks! Elliot said: wow, Helen, you are an artist! And she is!!
Elliot's snap
Matty's group snap
Agnes' snapshot...in strife, let me help...nope, got it!!

After our walk, we stopped by Colebrook Home, which used to be a children's home for Aboriginal children of the Stolen Generations. The Stolen Generations were the children of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent who were removed from their families by the Australian Federal and State government agencies and church missions, underacts of their respective parliaments. The removals occurred in the period between approximately 1909 and 1969, although in some places children were still being taken until the 1970s. Today the site where Colebrook home was, is a park where people can remember what happend. The statue of the grieving mother is incredibly sad - after having children on my own, I cannot fathom how it would feel if someone stole them away from me.
