American Festival

The Lister region is famous for their Norwegian-American culture. Every year they host an American Festival to celebrate cultural memories from the emigration era around the 1950s. What was so special was that so many people came back home again after being 'over there' chasing their dreams. And many people brought back memories, lingo and typical American artifacts - that still is a part of life in this area today. People hold a little piece of America in their hearts!

Even street names are in the American spirit
Norwegian-American life
Minnie Mouse & the need for speed!
Elliot and pappa watching the parade
Even the King was there!
The local Elvis Presley
JFK and Jackie Kennedy waved to the people
Hillbilly music...check out the 'foxtail'...
Everything is big in America! Huge trucks in the parade
Hmmmm....Bong-station around the corner?!?!
Icecreams all around!
In front of the pub. Of course it has an American name:
8th Avenue

Howdy partner! Lots of fun at the American Festival!
