Kuitpo Forest

Looking for a free activity to do with the kids in the school holidays? Head down to Kuitpo (pronounced kai-po)
Kuitpo Forest is situated in the South Mount Lofty Ranges, 45 minutes drive from Adelaide, near the township of Meadows. It is the perfect place for 'free-range-kids'! We spent an entire day there, and the kids roamed around, played with sticks and climbed trees. I challenge anyone to be bored in these surroundings - it is impossible!!

We headed down to Chookarloo, a part of the Heysen Trail which runs through the forest, to meet up with Cat and Andy - they had cooked up a storm and invited us all down for pulled pork burgers next to the campfire!

We went on a small hike - the Chookarloo walk, just about 30 minutes or so, perfect for little legs to see the sights - bright mushrooms and bouncy kangaroos.

This is the last day of our school holidays. Tomorrow it is back to normal and up early for school!
