Kuitpo Forest

Looking for a free activity to do with the kids in the school holidays? Head down to Kuitpo (pronounced kai-po)
Kuitpo Forest is situated in the South Mount Lofty Ranges, 45 minutes drive from Adelaide, near the township of Meadows. It is the perfect place for 'free-range-kids'! We spent an entire day there, and the kids roamed around, played with sticks and climbed trees. I challenge anyone to be bored in these surroundings - it is impossible!!

We headed down to Chookarloo, a part of the Heysen Trail which runs through the forest, to meet up with Cat and Andy - they had cooked up a storm and invited us all down for pulled pork burgers next to the campfire!

We went on a small hike - the Chookarloo walk, just about 30 minutes or so, perfect for little legs to see the sights - bright mushrooms and bouncy kangaroos.

This is the last day of our school holidays. Tomorrow it is back to normal and up early for school!

The Sidewinder Trail @ Sturt Gorge

What a wonderful day! We woke with the early morning sunshine - gosh, haven't had beautiful weather like this for weeks! So off we went on an early Saturday morning hike with breakfast in our bag down at Sturt Gorge.

We saw three Galahs

...and a koala

...a snake-hole!

Elliot did a selfie of all of us - even Samba is in!

...another two koalas!!

..and another little Galah

A great hike that totalled 5.6 km. Now the grocery shopping needs to be done...sigh.

A farm with a view

A day in the Barossa is truly bliss!

Terri and her family bought a farm there last year and now also have an ever growing number of 4-legged family members. Yeah, a big hit with my little girls - they are ecstatic - we had an absolutely fantastic day today!!

This is Murphy and Woodruff - baby goats!

JD the big pony...

..and Ginger and Whiskey, the cutest, most fluffy and soft ponies I have ever seen!

This is the very cuddly rescue dog:-)

Thanks for a most wonderful day and great lunch, lovely Terri!
