'Ice cream' party Piñatas!

We made some super-duper party favours this year: 'ice cream' party piñatas! As a thank you for coming to celebrate Milla's party, we made the kids a little surprise party bag; looking like an ice cream, but when biting into the cones filled with candy it would be like a bite-sized piñata!

First we made meringue tops from egg whites, sugar and vanilla.

While the meringues baked in the oven, Milla filled the ice cream cones with candy.

Once the tops were baked and cones filled with candy, it was time to assemble the 'ice creams'. I used 'glue' made of icing sugar and egg whites when sticking the tops to the cones.

Then I sprinkled 'hundreds-and-thousands' along the edge for a pop of colour!

Taaa-daaaaaa! Perfect! And sticking together just fine.

While I was assembling, Milla wrote all of her thank-you-notes to each of the kids, and we attached the notes to the 'ice-cream' party piñatas with pink twine.

All done! And they looked so cute - just like real ice creams, but with a little surprise inside! And the best thing is we could make them a few days in advance.

And most importantly, the birthday girl L-O-V-E-D them!!! There you go, our 'ice cream' party piñatas.
XO
