Elliot's certificate of merit!
Wednesday before the holidays it was 'casual-dress-day' and Elliot received a certificate of merit at assembly! She got the award because:
Elliot, you are always an active and interested participant in class lessons.
You have such a positive attitude towards your learning and show great persistence and determination. You always take on tasks willingly and confidently.
Well done, Elliot!
And it was signed her teacher and the principal! Needless to say - we were very proud of our lil' Lottie!

School is fun!
Elliot: Mamma, do you know what invertebrates are?
Me: No, what are they?
Elliot: They are insects that don't have a backbone! Here, feel my backbone! I've got one!
Me: wow! How do you know this?
Elliot: I learned it in school. I just love school, mamma!

Pusse opp - renovating!
We are slowly getting there. Room by room. This is the living room french doors going from the all over beige to white. All white is what I want! For everything! If you ever came visiting in our old house, you would know we were trapped in a mahogany-hell...hence all I want now is crisp white, white, white!

Love your insides! Love the earth!

O-M-G, it is the worst chocolate I have ever tasted! Actually it didn't taste like chocolate at all:(

Winter storms!!!
I just got a phone call from the babysitter that I had to come home from work...the girls heard a big 'BANG' and saw that a huge tree had fallen down and smashed the woodshed! Thank goodness it didn't fall onto the house!!
The play equipment was broken into bits, flying about, in the winds as well!! |
See we do have quite bad winters here down under!!

Deciphering the shopping list
The shopping list is often in need of deciphering these days...
...now that our little missies can write, items appear as they 'need' them ...I guessed long and hard for this one, before it dawned on me: Yoghurts!!!

Cafe con leche Y Amaretto
Friday night I went out with some girlfriends to Sangria, a Spanish restaurant and bar. Mmmmm... tapas, and we endulged in 4 different kinds of Sangria....think peach, lychees and rose.... For dessert we had churros y chocolate, and of course a cafe con leche and Amaretto on the side!
Then it was time to dance the night away.... except, five minutes past midnight we were all so tired that we ended up going home. My oh my, times have changed since pre-kids:)

Landforms
The central idea or Milla's class inquiry wass: The Nartural features of the Earth that have been formed over time and are still changing. They went off on an excursion to Hallett Cove Conservation Park to study landforms. I hope you can see why it is such a fantastic place to visit. We often spend Sundays exploring the big, rocky beaches down there.
They brought their sketch-pads to draw the rocks and land formations |
Patterns and lines and beautiful colours...nature's own artwork!
