Old and new in unity at Nordberg!
What a lovely view all the way to the ocean! Milla and I brought Besta to Nordberg Fort for a night of musical poems...
...and pancakes, of course.
We enjoyed the very cool, modern murals - breaking even with the ever beautiful 'Lista-landet'.
We visited Nattåpent, where Lars Jakob Rudjord og Ingvild Koksvik Amundsen have put melody to the famous Norwegian poet, Rolf Jacobsen's poems. Toggether with fellow musicians, they performed an amazing and emotional orchestration...we were left in awe, wanting more!
Their performance was a part of Fyrlyd 2012, a string of summer concerts. Get this - one of the concerts was a 'ligge-konsert', a laying-on-the-floor-concert, where everyone was, yes, laying on the floor, indulging in floating tones. Beautiful! A totally new musical experience.
The area and the fortress is so beautiful. And the view is amazing. All the way to the ocean.
Nordberg Fort was built by the Germans during WWII as a piece of the extensive defence line against an allied invasion. The coastal fortress was made to fire at enemy ships from the outside of Lista. From the fort's two highest points there is a fantastic 180 degree view over the ocean. at the same time you see down on the Pennefield, containing fantastic rockcarvings. After the war the interior and exterior of the buildings are mostly unchanged, and therefore it is heritage listed. Today it is a museum, a cafe with art and exhibitions. Walking through the fantastic cultural landscape seeing paintings of the marine soldiers in the trenches, is an experience.
Now we are eagerly awaiting the release of the Nattåpent music - due to be recorded and released in October. I will be first in line to buy the cd!!!
