Kaptein Sabeltann!

Besten & Besta took us all to see the almighty Kaptein Sabeltann! Whoa...that was a little bit scary...and lots and lots of fun.

After check-in at the hotel it was time to get our 'game-face' on...which was butterflies all over the place! Yeah, nothing like a butterfly to scare off a pirate or two! That's right!

All set - ready to 'flutter' down and see what that pirate dude is all about...

 ...tjo-og-hei-og-hoppsann...
...hmmm, he does look a bit scary...

...and he comes with a warning and all....
...better grab some swords and pistols...let's practice on Besten...yep, it works...

...ok, we're ready. Sooooo many people there for the show!! And we were almost at the very front!

There was even a REAL pirateship sailng into the show! Even Besta thought it was really cool!

Look! There he is!!! Kaptein Sabeltann!

A very cool show and a great night! And we even found this glowing car on the way home that night.

Håbet

Med havet, døden og kjærligheten i fokus.

Ocean Hope, the ocean-garbage-hut, is built from garbage found on the beach, and it conveys an important message; about the ocean, death and love - the ocean is ill at the moment. The 'Naturvernforbundet' says that the North Sea is the third most polluted ocean in the world. Pollution and garbage is the reason that fish and birds are dying. But raising knowledge about pollution amongst us all, gives hope.

We went to the opening of the hope-hut and heard the artist who built the hut, talk about her work. A local artist, Helene Bøksle, sang about the ocean, hope and love. Lots of people came along to a wonderful day at the beach.

Lorentz har til og med kasta skjorta i sola

There was even a treasure hunt with the local pirate 'King Torius'. The kids were picking up garbage from the beach and found gold coins in the sand along the way - chocolate gold coins!

Milla and Elliot hand in hand in their purple dresses

Hmmmm...what is he saying??? What is he telling us to do??

Agnes found some gold coins so she was happy!

Favourite buns

The local bakery has got the girls' favourite creme buns and 'skoleboller'! Mine too!

We are on a holiday, so we have one almost every day:-) Because we deserve it...haha!

Bikeling

Besten and Besta bought all the girls brand new PINK bicycles....oh, the joy in their eyes when the garage door rolled up!! Now Besten is teaching Milla how to ride without training wheels.

I like to go bikeling on my bike, on my bike, on my bike....:)

Nattåpent på Nordberg

Old and new in unity at Nordberg!

What a lovely view all  the way to the ocean! Milla and I brought Besta to Nordberg Fort for a night of musical poems...

...and pancakes, of course.

We enjoyed the very cool, modern murals - breaking even with the ever beautiful 'Lista-landet'.

We visited Nattåpent, where Lars Jakob Rudjord og Ingvild Koksvik Amundsen have put melody to the famous Norwegian poet, Rolf Jacobsen's poems. Toggether with fellow musicians, they performed an amazing and emotional orchestration...we were left in awe, wanting more!

Their performance was a part of Fyrlyd 2012, a string of summer concerts. Get this - one of the concerts was a 'ligge-konsert', a laying-on-the-floor-concert, where everyone was, yes, laying on the floor, indulging in floating tones. Beautiful! A totally new musical experience.

The area and the fortress is so beautiful. And the view is amazing. All the way to the ocean.

Nordberg Fort was built by the Germans during WWII as a piece of the extensive defence line against an allied invasion. The coastal fortress was made to fire at enemy ships from the outside of Lista. From the fort's two highest points there is a fantastic 180 degree view over the ocean. at the same time you see down on the Pennefield, containing fantastic rockcarvings. After the war the interior and exterior of the buildings are mostly unchanged, and therefore it is heritage listed. Today it is a museum, a cafe with art and exhibitions. Walking through the fantastic cultural landscape seeing paintings of the marine soldiers in the trenches, is an experience.

Now we are eagerly awaiting the release of the Nattåpent music - due to be recorded and released in October. I will be first in line to buy the cd!!!
