Pizza-night

MrC has got a new BBQ with an attached smoker, so now all we eat is smoked and bbq'ed. Last night we even had smoked pizza!! And it was very yummy!

Thanks for another lovely dinner, MrC!

Someone likes Nutella!

Look what I found! I think someone likes Nutella (nugatti).... She had climbed up into the food shelf, got the Nutella jar down, and... well, have a look... mmmmmm!

Sssshhh...!

Sssssshhhhhh.....secrets inside!!! Milla got a journal - en dagbok, heter det det, der man skriver hemmeligheter? - for her birthday, and she loves it! It has got a pink padlock shaped as a heart, and she has got two special keys (hidden in a secret place) to open it. On the front cover she has decorated it with rhinestones in all kinds of colours. In her journal she writes and draws about what special things that happen in her life, and it's all hers! She showed me one day, and she had drawn a picture of her and Besta picking flowers. There was another one of her and two little friends at school wearing green glasses! And one page read 'I love dogs'. Agnes and Elliot are really in awe of Milla's special book!

Garden of delights

Yesterday, on our afternoon walk we came across these beautiful plants. Don't know what they are called, but they remind me of wild 'straw og siv', and I just love them.

And why not turn an old log into a dream of flowers?

Melkebart!

Happy Harmony day!

At Milla's school they were also celebrating Harmony day. Her class had made headdresses for their school hats:

And in Assembly, the entire school had practiced singing a song about being a good friend - perfect for Harmony week! She has been singing it all week long...Have a listen to the song below:)

Harmony day

Wednesday this week was Harmony day. Harmony Day is celebrated around Australia on 21 March each year. It's a day when all Australians celebrate our cultural diversity. The day is also the United Nation's International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Harmony Day is managed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship and gives people the opportunity to celebrate what makes each Australian unique and share what we have in common.
The continuing message for Harmony Day in 2012 is that Everyone Belongs, which means all Australians are a welcome part in the nation, regardless of their background. It's a time to reflect on where Australia has come from, recognising the traditional owners of this land. It's also about community participation, inclusiveness and respect – celebrating the different cultures that make Australia a great place to live.

In Agnes and Elliot's pre-school they celebrated by making a mural where they glued up 'little people' representing themselves, with messages of where they belong.
Here is Agnes' little person and her message:

And here is Elliot's little person with her message about belonging:

Two happy little people in Harmony week!

Milla and Pappa's day off

Tuesday Milla's school had a pupil-free day....yippiiiiii...day off!!! So pappa took the day off too, and they were cruising along, enjoying the sights. After they came to visit me in my office for lunch, they sent me this photo...clearly it was a good day!

They had been to the servo and bought a Ben10 juice, and then they stopped at the library where Milla picked up some new films and books. Happy Tuesday!

What do you think???

Assembly

Twice a month there is assembly - oppstilling - at Milla's school. All students gather in the gymnasium and they present what they have been working on lately. They all march up in front of the rest of the school (and excited parents who are there to watch), show us their makings and tell us about them.

This Friday Milla had assembly so we all came to watch. She told us that she was going to present something about puppies, and Agnes and Elliot were very excited. Before the bell rang we had time to play on the playground - always a big hit with the girls. Check out Agnes' version of Fader Jakob in the video clip (...no, I don't wanna say 'horer du en klokke, ding dang dong', mamma...I want to sing my special one...)

After dropping Milla off in her classroom, we waited in the gymnasium for the kids to enter the assembly - and Milla was leading the class - she was very proud!

Look at Milla's little puppy... She is very proud to present a puppy that needs...a home, LOVE, food and play!

Before assembly can start, everyone have to stand and sing the National Anthem of Australia...

And then it was time for Milla's class to present their puppies... First marching up and then Milla spoke in the microphone, in front of everyone....'Puppies need food!'... What a brave little Milla we have!!!

Mamma is so very proud!

I want purple earrings, mamma!

Guess what?! Agnes got her ears pierced today! It all started yesterday, when she came and told me: 'I want purple earrings, mamma!' I said 'sure, darling', most certain that she would forget all about it.  But she kept talking about it yesterday. And this morning I woke up by someone whispering into my ear...'wake up, mamma, can we go get purple earrings today?'

Today was a beautiful day with bouncy white clouds and wonderful sunshine. We packed up some breakfast and went down to the beach where we had a morning picnic. All along she was getting more and more excited about her ear piercing. So off we went!

Whilst waiting for our appointment we had coffee and babycinos. I was expecting her to change her mind at any given moment. But she persisted.

Waiting at the piercing place, she picked out some beautiful gold studs with purple diamonds, and everyone was very excited...

...and when the time came, she started looking a bit pale, little miss Agnes. But she was still determined to finish what she had started.

They shot both the earrings through at the same time...BANG BANG...and it did hurt a little bit...

...but Agnes was SO brave and she even got a lollipop from the ladies! Milla and Elliot thought she looked really pretty!

Do you think that they want earrings too now???

...maybe later:)
